Issa Diop - Signed
Issa Diop all agreed, awaiting some medical results but don’t foresee a problem. Should sign in the morning, can’t be registered till July 1st due to French window.

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
Holy fuck - that team would get pushed back straight away and become a five at the back, leaving Rice and Noble on their own in the middle. It would be a massacre.

Winston Reid fit to play for NZ tomorrow. Was a very good player once upon a time. Probably half crocked. We can only hope.

When did you see a team with awful fullbacks and midfielders playing that formation?

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
I've suggested playing three at the back with wing backs, which might just suit the players at our disposal, but I don't think Pellegrini has EVER used this formation, even experimentally.

Out defence has been pretty awful with every combination so far.

He was doing fine next to Ogbonna. God knows why Balbuena been bought back in.

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
Terrific player for sure.

Isn't being coached to understand how to play against the stronger, more physical, forwards in the league. Plays the same against them all. But 8f someone's gonna start manoeuvring you around you need to change and adapt, be more Terry like and less Ferdinand like.

He's a good player, looks bad at the moment because he's in a poor side.

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
Still think this is a terrific signing. Yes he needs to get stronger but he is quick, defends well and reads danger. He's a really young guy playing a lot of games in that position with very little help around him.
He certainly would not be a player I would be complaining about given the performance of others.

Well, Eerie,as much as we can be well and truly fucked off, there's no point being completely and utterly defeatest about everthing.

I used to spend years allowing West Ham to fuck me off due to poor results, performances and relegations.

Then, as im sure, you and plenty of others have experienced, certain events in life happen that puts a game of football into perspective.

So, i generally try to take the positives out of football.

I like Diop, my only real problem is that he needs to toughen up a bit - he still serms like a boy in a man's body at times.

I think we're all aware that you think everything will be great eventually, Sum.

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
He's been playing poorly like everyone else.

He's young and playing in a side thats serverely lacking in confidence.

Im sure he and the others will turn it around. Whether it's enough to make it a good season, im not so sure.

Payet > Snodgrass & Fonte

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
Think that's what sets us apart from the teams that have broken into the next level of the league.

They're prepared to lose a top performer for large sums of money so that they have reinvest and get 2 or 3 decent players in to improve overall.

Think Bale at spuds or Maguire now at Leicester. Could say the same of Coutinho & Suarez but of course Liverpool were already far clear of our level. But same principle.

Can't think of the last player we sold for a profit and then had funds to reinvest.

I'd sell any of the cunts. Except maybe Fabianski.

Most people on this board we're doing their absolute nut that he might be sold for £70mil in the summer.

You have to laugh.

Re: Issa Diop - Signed
Not great in the air.

Never defends well against more physical forwards.

Move to the left CB position has made him a worse performer.
